Italy-based Malawian gospel sensation Anointed Kennedy has called on fellow musicians to produce music that goes beyond entertainment and serves as therapy for those going through tough moments in life.
The artist emphasized that music has the power to heal emotional wounds and help people find peace amid life’s challenges.
“When someone loses a loved one or faces difficult situations, the right song can be the medicine their soul needs. Music should speak to the heart and give people hope,” said Kennedy.
The gospel musician, who hails from Malawi but is now based in Italy, made the remarks ahead of the release of his new single “Chikondano,” featuring Miracle. The song will officially premiere this Monday on Times Television’s Fusion Live.
Recorded both in Italy and Malawi, Chikondano explores deep themes of pain, loss, death, and God’s comfort. Its music video, directed by Essim, captures raw emotions and visuals that mirror the song’s heartfelt message.
Kennedy revealed that he is currently working on a full album project, which will feature cross-border collaborations. He expressed admiration for the growth of Malawi’s music industry, noting that more artists are now breaking into the international scene.
“Malawi’s music is going far. I’m proud to see many artists pushing boundaries. I would love to collaborate with some of them soon,” he added.
