Mangochi Police spokesperson Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi has said she will continue carrying out charitable activities even after the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end.
Speaking to 247 Malawi News,Daudi explained that her charity work during Ramadan has already reached about 2,000 people through the distribution of food assistance to vulnerable members of the community.
She added that there is still a possibility that around 1,000 more people will benefit from the same food support before the month of Ramadan concludes.
According to Daudi, the initiative is aimed at helping families who struggle to access basic necessities, particularly during the fasting period when many people rely on community support.
She emphasized that the program was organized to bring relief and hope to less privileged households in her area.
Daudi also addressed rumors circulating on social media suggesting that she intends to contest as a Member of Parliament in the 2030 general elections.
She dismissed the claims as false, stressing that her humanitarian activities should not be linked to any political ambitions.
The police officer said she started helping people in her community many years ago, long before the current discussions and speculation about politics emerged.
“Claims that I want to become a Member of Parliament in 2030 are not true. Helping people in my community is something I started many years ago, and at the moment I have never considered joining politics,” said Daudi.
Apart from distributing food, Daudi has also been supporting young Muslims by providing daily Iftar meals to about 70 children aged between 7 and 18 since the first day of Ramadan, and the program continues to benefit them as the holy month progresses.
