Sele Media Africa Appoints journalist Chisomo Phiri as Managing Director for Malawi

Sele Media Africa has officially announced the appointment of seasoned Malawian journalist Chisomo Phiri as the Managing Director of Sele Media Malawi, the network’s Southern African satellite branch.
The announcement was made by Sele Media Africa Founder and Chief Executive Officer(CEO ) on Monday, John Sele Philip, who described the appointment as a “significant milestone” in the company’s bold expansion across Southern Africa.
> “This appointment marks a major step forward in our mission to amplify authentic African voices and shape narratives that matter,” said Philip.
Phiri joins Sele Media Malawi with a strong background in journalism and digital communication.
Over the years, he has worked with several leading Malawian print and online media outlets, earning widespread respect for his accuracy, integrity, and balanced reporting.
His leadership at Sele Media Malawi reflects the organization’s growing commitment to truth-driven journalism, ethical storytelling, and empowering Malawians to actively participate in shaping their national dialogue.
Based in Blantyre, Malawi’s commercial capital and the new headquarters of Sele Media Malawi,Phiri brings with him a blend of academic excellence and professional experience.
He holds a Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies, as well as certifications in Digital Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Digital and Multimedia Journalism, and the NBCU Certificate in Journalism.
As part of Sele Media Africa’s International Leadership Team, Phiri is set to begin the recruitment and onboarding of journalists across Malawi who share the network’s vision of building transformative media that informs, inspires, and ignites change across the continent.

Sele Media Malawi is expected to begin full operations in the coming weeks, positioning itself as a platform for impactful storytelling and innovative journalism across the nation.
