UDF President Atupele Muluzi has intensified calls for a united national dialogue after revealing that he has already engaged fellow opposition leaders and other influential Malawians on the future of the country.
Muluzi says leaders including UTM President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe and PDP President Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa have shown willingness to take part in discussions aimed at addressing Malawi’s growing economic and governance challenges.
According to Atupele, the proposed national conversation seeks to create a rare platform where Malawians from different political, social and professional backgrounds can openly share ideas and possible solutions to problems affecting the nation.
He says issues such as corruption, unemployment, governance, the struggling economy and opportunities for the youth can no longer be ignored if the country is to move forward.
The UDF leader has stressed that the initiative is not meant to promote political interests, but rather to unite Malawians around a common vision for national development and stability.
Muluzi further says Malawi needs honest and respectful dialogue that can restore hope and help rebuild trust among citizens and leaders.
His statement comes amid increasing public frustration over the rising cost of living and calls for leaders to prioritise solutions over political divisions.
