Maranatha Academy has come out strongly to dismiss what it describes as “defamatory and malicious” claims circulating on social media alleging that its staff go for up to three months without pay.
In a sharply worded statement released on Friday, the institution warned that it will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals spreading what it calls false and damaging information about its operations.
The academy suggested that the allegations may be the work of disgruntled former employees whose contracts were terminated on grounds including professional incompetence, misconduct, and failure to adhere to institutional standards.
According to the statement, the claims being circulated do not reflect the reality within the institution and are aimed at tarnishing its reputation.
Maranatha Academy emphasized that it operates under strict professional and administrative systems that ensure stability for both staff and students.
The institution further argued that its consistent academic performance is proof of a well managed environment that supports teaching and learning.
“The academy’s sustained academic excellence and continued top performance remain clear and objective evidence of a stable, disciplined and conducive environment,” reads part of the statement.
It added that these achievements are anchored in accountability, professionalism, and equal opportunity within the institution.
The academy also reassured stakeholders that it remains focused on its broader mission of improving education standards in Malawi.
It said its goal is to continue producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also productive members of society.
Maranatha Academy has since urged the public to disregard the circulating claims, maintaining that they are baseless and intended to mislead.
The development highlights growing tensions between private institutions and online narratives, with the academy now taking a firm stance to protect its image.
